Capt. R. A. Burrus, formerly a citizen of this county, died suddenly at his residence in Memphis, Tenn., at 12 o'clock last Monday, of apoplexy. He was well known and highly esteemed in this county, und his untimely death will occasion many regrets. His remains were brought to Murfreesboro last Wednesday, by his brother, Capt. F. R. Burrus, and were interred in the afternoon in the family burying ground. Murfreesboro News. Capt. Burrus will be remembered by many friends in Pulaski as a resident here for some months before he located in Memphis.
He was possessed of many noble qualities of head and heart, and won friends everywhere.
