NOLAN LANG
Services are pending with Carpenter-Denton Funeral Home for Nolan O. Lang, 74, who died yesterday in a local hospital.
Born Jan. 3, 1893 at Pampa, Tex., Lang came to Carlsbad from Poyner, Tex., in 1946 and was vice president of IBEW Local 643 at the time of his death. He served as president from 1950 to 1954 and was an executive board member and examining board member. His membership in the union totaled more than 50 years.
He was a veteran of World War I and worked as an electrician for the city in recent years.
Preceeded in death by his wife in 1963, Lang resided at 121 S. Fourth St. He was a member of the Methodist Church and American Legion.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Olin Sweem of Carlsbad; a brother, Turner Lang of Palestine, Tex.; and two grandchildren, Larry Sweem of Carlsbad and Mrs. Lois Davis of Los Alamos.
Three great-grandchildren also survive.

Services for Nolan O. Lang will be held tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. at Carpenter-Denton Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenneth Andress of Hillcrest Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be R.C. Hand, Roy Fancher, Coston Presley, Arias Davis, A.L. Dudley and Joe Griffin. Honorary pallbearers are all members of the electrical workers union.
Lang died Wednesday at a local hospital. He was 74.
