Nora Leone Alexander, 78, of Batesville died Tuesday, April 8, 1997.
Born Sept. 12, 1918, in Locust Grove, she was the daughter of William Ed and Tie Peel Alexander. She was a nurses' aide for Wood-Lawn Nursing Home, retiring after 27 years, and was of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Woodward of Batesville; a sister, Roberta Harmon of Desha; two grandchildren, Tammy Hill and Erik Woodward, both of Batesville; and four great-grandchildren, Amanda Joy Hill, Jon-Eric Hill, Tiffany-Joy Hill and Angel Nicole Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Leon Alexander, Hancel "Judge" Alexander, Pete Alexander and Eugene Alexander; and four sisters, Eunice Stephens, Mozel Stephens, Nobia Bell and Elizabeth Faye Yates.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Crouch Funeral Home chapel with Ralph Wallis officiating. Burial will be in Alderbrook Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
