Joyce Kay Biggs

Joyce Kay Biggs, 70, 1412 N. 12th St., passed away at 10:24 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at Good Samaritan Hospital.

She was born March 29, 1940, in Lawrence County, Ill., to C.A. "Jack" and Emma Mae (Norton) Biggs.

Kay was secretary for the First Christian Church for many years and also was the pianist for Heritage Baptist Church in Vincennes. She played for many funerals and weddings in the area.

Surviving are her sister, Sue Schmidt and her husband, Norman W., of Mount Carmel, Ill.; a niece, Melody Waker and her husband, Greg, of Mount Carmel; a nephew, Doug Schmidt and his wife, Carol, of Noblesville; and four great-nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Juanita Mae Biggs.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Baptist Church, 1860 S. Hart St. Friends may visit with the family from 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Baptist Church or the choice of the donor.
