He was married to Mary Catherine Blocker on February 16, 1896 in Garwin, Tama County, Iowa. Mary was born May 19, 1874 in Traer, Tama County, Iowa, the daughter of Johann and Ida (Meier) Blocker.
They stayed in Iowa for a short time, then moved to Moreton, Richland County, North Dakota, later to Idaho Falls, Idaho. George died April 6, 1937 and Mary died October 30. 1962. They are buried at Idaho Falls, Bonneville County, Idaho.
