Helen Baxter Dowdy joined her Lord and Savior on 2/21/2011. Helen was born in Franklin, Texas on the 19th of October 1918. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert O. Dowdy, 1 sister, 4 brothers and a dear friend of 22 years, Leroy Wade. Helen worked for Amoco Oil for 37 years and was a faithful member of Oak Forest Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and so enjoyed dancing and traveling. She is survived by 13 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery on Wednesday, February 22, 2011, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Music Dept. of Oak Forest Baptist Church or to the donor's charity of choice.
