Billie Claude Hendryx, 63, of 760 Colorado St., Andrews, Ind., died Nov. 5, 1993, in Huntington Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 3, 1930, in Pittsburg, he was the son of Claude and Grace L. Hornbeck Hendryx. His marriage was on Nov. 20, 1976, in Andrews to Doris J. Boyer Stahlsmith, who survives. He served in the Army 26 years, retiring as a master sergeant in 1972. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Largo. Also Surviving are three sons, William H. Hendryx of Roanoke; Roger B. Hendryx of Columbia City, and Claude C. Hendryx of Fort Smith, Ark; a daughter, Lt. Cmdr. Laura D. Hendryx of Puerto Rico; two stepsons, Charles Stahlsmith of Indianapolis and Todd Stahlsmith of Huntington; three stepdaughters, Jane Wolf of Collinsville, Ala., Jody Bir of Huntington and Edith Whitaker of Andrews; a sister, Wanda Wilson of Pittsburg, eight grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild. Four sisters and a brother are deceased. Services were Tuesday in Huntington with burial in Marion National Cemetery, Vame, 1700 East 38th Street Marion, IN, Section 8 Site 542.
