Joy A GREEN, 91, Brazil, died 2-14-2011, at Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility.
She was born 1-13-1920 in Clay Co, the daughter of Olus and Anna Long Aker. Joy graduated from Van Buren H.S. and later married Joseph M Green. He preceded her in death in September 1992.
Joy was well known in Clay County for providing Kindergarden in her home prior to the public schools. She held both morning and afternoon sessions in her home for more than 10 years. She was a member of the Harmony
U.M. Church and was active in the past with many positions in the church. She was a past member of the OES in Knightsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, sisters Maude Beeler, Clysta Withers, Claris Smith and Lochiel France and brother
Warren Aker. Survivors include her
daughter: Jana (Rick) Short
grandchildren: Kasey (Scott) Buell, Shaun Short
great grandchildren: Lainy and Zac Bull
sister-in-law: Virginia Aker
many nieces, nephews and extended family
Services will take place at 11 am Friday at French Funeral Home with Rev Myron James officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will take place Thursday, from 5-8 pm.
