Lisa passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011. She was born in Dallas, Texas on December 5, 1962 to Nancy and Goss Townes. At the age of eighteen months the family moved to Tyler. Lisa was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. She attended Sam Houston University, Tyler Commercial College, and Vecchio School of Court Reporting in Arlington, Texas. She worked as a court reporter in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for ten years until she chose to be a stay-at-home mom.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Goss Townes; her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Townes, Jr. of Houston, Texas and Dr. and Mrs. James Makins of Port Arthur, Texas. She is survived by her sons, Aaron and Matthew Russell, her mother Nancy Townes, sister Laurie Lawrence Blank and husband Michael, niece Mackenzie Lawrence, nephew Peyton Lawrence, and her children's father Steve Russell. Lisa had many friends and will be deeply missed.
Pallbearers are cousins Dr. Scott Makins, Dr. Pat Makins, Jim Makins, Brian Makins, Gary Marshall and friends Dan Eubanks, Patrick Henrietta, and Jarred Henrietta. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Charlie Primer, Charlie Green, and Steve Hardy.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, January 30th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler
