Obituary
John Marion Daugherty, son of John and Mary Daugherty, was born in Quincy, Ill, October 31, 1867 and died in Lusk, Wyo., January 12, at the age of 80.
When a young man he came to Miller, Nebr., and on April 14, 1892 he was married to Carrie A. Critton. Seven children were born to them, five of whom survive their father. They are Mrs. Nina Nelson, Monette, MO; Mrs. Emma Griffin, Mitchell, Neb; Mrs. Gertrude Hart: Sargent, Nebr.; Mrs. Eva Real and Howard Daugherty of Riverton, Wyo.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Wright of Chico, Calif.; and Mrs. Sarah Mowery of Miller, Nebr. 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and two children, Otis E. and Mrs. Alice McCulloch.
Before going to Wyoming, Mr. Daugherty was engaged in farming in Custer County the majority of time being spend around Ansley. For the past eleven years he has suffered the loss of his eyesight.
Funeral services were conducted from the Peet Funeral Chapel on Thursday afternoon, January 15 with William A. Shark officiating. Burial was in the Lusk, Cemetery.
