Amiko Frances Tazumi (nee Yamamoto), 83, of Upper Deerfield Township died following a brief illness on Wednesday afternoon February 2, 2011 at the SJ Regional Medical Center in Vineland.

Born in Auburn, Washington, she was the wife of the late Kaoru Tazumi, who died in 1994. Mrs. Tazumi was a Bridgeton resident for many years; living on Edward Avenue and most recently was a resident of Upper Deerfield Township. She was the daughter of the late Risaburo and Chyo Tsuji Yamamoto.

Mrs. Tazumi was a registered nurse and received her nurse's training at the Women's Medical College Hospital in Philadephia. She worked for many years for Basil J. Ingemi, MD as the nurse in his orthopedic practice in Bridgeton.

A longtime member of the Seabrook Buddhist Temple, she served as recording secretary for the Board of Trustees, president of the Seabrook Buddhist Women's Assocation, master gardener and head writer and editor of the temple newsletter, The Middle Way. She also coordinated many of the special events and day-to-day operations at the temple.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy T. Fluett and her husbnd David of Naperville, IL and Jeanne Catt and her husband Dennis of New Market, VA, three grandchildren, Amy Fluett, Ryan Catt and Emily Catt and one great granddaughter, Erin Hirsh. Additional survivors include two sisters, Catherine Yamamoto of Upper Deerfield Twp. and Ruby Watanabe and her husband Jack of Culver City, CA and several nieces and nephews. She was predecease by two sisters, Toshiko and Mary S. Yamamoto and two brothers, Noburu and Isamu Yamamoto.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Seabrook Buddhist Temple, 9 Northville Road in Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday afternoon February 8th at 4 o'clock where friends will be received at the Temple from 3 until 4.

Tokudo Minister Linda Engstrom from the Seabrook Buddhist Temple will officiate.

Cremation took place at the Laurel Lawn Crematory in Upper Deerfield Twp. and the interment of the cremated remains will take place privately at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.
