PARKERS PRAIRIE
January 1, 1883.—This community was unexpectedly shocked this new year morning by hearing the death of Henry Asseln announced. He died at one o'clock this morning. The deceased was born in Germany in August, 1841. Emigrated to America in 1860. Settled in Decorah, Iowa, and was engaged in the merchantile business until 1869, when he came to Parker's Prairie, Otter Tail county, where he has been engaged in the same line of business ever since. His loss will be sadly felt by this community. His business qualities were excellent, and consequently he was very successful, accumulating a handsome property, so that his wife and fatherless children will be well provided for. The disease which causes his death was bronchial pneumonia, together with nervous prostration and over application to business.
