O'Beck, Richard "Rick", 50, of Newport Beach, passed away on February 21, 2011. He was born Nov. 20, 1960 in Westchester. Rick grew up in Huntington Beach and later moved to Riverside where he raised his family for 13 years before moving to Newport Beach, where he has resided since 1999. At a young age, Rick began to show his incredible mechanical abilities, repairing both a go kart and lawnmower motor before the age of 5. He worked in the dairy industry for 32 years. If it was broken, Rick could fix it. When not working in his shop, he was happiest when he was with his family. Rick was an amazing, loving father. He also enjoyed spending time blasting music in his infamous music room, cruising around in his Lingenfelter Corvette and working on his various "inventions". He was a wonderful man who was loved by all, and he will be greatly missed. Rick is survived by his wife, Patti of 16 years; five children, Mike (Ashley) O'Beck, Chris (Mayra) O'Beck, Missy O'Beck, Christina O'Beck and Kenny Vick; two brothers, John (Jeri) O'Beck and Steve (Jan) O'Beck; three sisters, Linda O'Beck, Christine O'Beck, and Ester O'Beck; and many more family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Barbara Jean O'Beck, and two brothers Martin and Mark O'Beck. A Catholic Mass will be held on Monday, February 28, 2011, 10 AM at Our Lady of Mt Carmel in Newport Beach with a lunch to follow at Harborside Pavilion. A private burial will be held at Olivewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church.
