Ivan was born June 18, 1917, in Felt, Idaho, the son of Charles Heber and Nancy Caroline Decker Ward. He grew up in Felt, where he attended his schooling. He was the oldest of nine children. He moved to Parker in l944.
He married Verna Huff Farley on April 26, 1968, in Twin Groves, Idaho. They made their home just south of Parker. Verna died Oct. 23, 2010.
Ivan worked for local farmers including Milton and Max Phillips in the Teton Basin area, Remington and Sons of Parker, and he assembled machinery for Browings. He also drove truck for Fremont Road and Bridge until his retirement in l982. Ivan liked to travel, seeing most of the Western states and Canada. He also liked to camp and fish.
He is survived by his stepchildren, Gary (Sylvia) Farley and Ula Harris, both of St. Anthony, Georgia (Gene) Stimpson of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Deb Terrell of St. George, Utah; 18 step-grandchildren; 44 step-great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Priscilla Hobbs of Boise, Patricia Hancock of Lander, Wyo., and Ada (Bill) Hancock of Riverton, Wyo.; a brother-in-law, Bennie Fayle of Hamilton, Mont.; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Tanner of Ogden, Utah. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Max, Clyde and Leo Ward; two sisters, Louise and Monna; a stepson, Larry Farley; a step-grandson, Wade Farley; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Homestead Assisted Living Center; his granddaughter, Susette Miller; Hospice Alliance, especially Bonnie Meyers and granddaughter, Tammy Sanders, Dr. Bates and Dr. Dixon.
