Mr. Hughey was 66 years of age and a native of North Carolina. He came to Calhoun while a young man and spent the rest of his life here. He was one time manager of the Calhoun hotel but devoted much of his life to the mercantile business. He had taken sick in January and had been ever since confined to his home.
