Jesse Hale
The funeral for Jesse C. Hale, 87, East Peoria, a former resident of Bloomington and Downs, who died Sunday in Peoria, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Stamper Memorial Home, the Rev. Gerald Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Downs.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Hale was born April 25, 1889, in Gray, Ky., a son of Thomas and Liddie Ann Parker Hale. He married Florence Jackson Sept. 17, 1906, in Kentucky. She died March 30, 1971.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs., Vernon Bolton and Mrs. Hunsinger. both of Peoria, and Mrs. Earl Arnold, Calimesa, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Crawford Bell, Corbin, Ky.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Eleven brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
He farmed in McLean and Woodford counties and was superintendent of the Woodford County Home in Metamora, before retiring in 1958.
He belonged to Bay View Gardens Baptist Church.
