Freda M. Day

Freda May Pickering Day, 93, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, in Vancouver. She had been a Clark County resident for the past 70 years.
Her husband, Richard, died in 1971.
Mrs. Day was born June 19, 1905, in Spencer, Iowa, and moved to Washington state when she was 5 years old. She moved to Camas in 1928 and worked for the Crown Zellerbach paper mill for a few years. Mrs. Day moved to Vancouver in 1992.
A 75-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Cyrene Chapter, she enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Stebbins and Pat Howell, both of Vancouver; one son, Charles Day of Camas; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The casket will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas. A graveside service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Camas Cemetery.
