Burt is the son of Albert Bogart Henderson and Louise Kohler Henderson Rottmann.
Burt was raised in the Nyack, NY area. He lived in San Francisco before moving to Klamath Falls in 1971 and farmed until 1988. During that time he became involved with the volunteer ambulance service for the Basin Ambulance Service. He also helped start the Rocky Point Ambulance services.
After 1983 he worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for Merle West Medical Center on West Medic One Ambulance until becoming ill.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing with his sons.
