Zanesville: Lester J. "Abie" Adolph 78 of Zanesville passed away at 8:20am on Tuesday April 14, 2009 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House.

Lester was born in Muskingum County on March 8, 1931 to the late Harvey Lester and Helen Crozier Adolph. Lester was a truck driver, an electrician, and retired from Racine Electronics after 28 years of dedicated service. He was the former care taker of Lake Isabella. Lester enjoyed going to auctions and talking on his HAM radio as he was known as " Whistler". Lester served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the US Navy.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Derwacter Adolph, six daughters Darlene (Tony) McConnell, Vicki (Mark) Schrrock, Brenda (Tim) Baum, Carol (Bill) Bentley, Rhonda Adolph, and Sheila (Brad) Untied, two brothers Raymond (Mary) Adolph and Delbert (Linda) Adolph, two sisters Marie Blair and Norabelle (George) Kinney, 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. And a dear friend Bill Woods.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Marjorie Adolph and a grandson Braden Untied.

Calling hours will be from 6-8pm on Thursday April 16 at The Snouffer Funeral Home 1150 W. Military Rd Zanesville. Funeral services will be at 11am on Friday in The Snouffer Chapel with Rev. Rebecca Worthington officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be provided by George Selsam VFW Post 1058.
