Mary J.McCormick Brady is my 2x Great-Grandmother. Her parents were Alfed McCormick 1810-1903 and Amanda Downerd 1820-1885. Alfred and Amanda had eleven children and I have documentation to prove all of them. They were: Elizabeth Mary, William, James R., Emily, Mary Jane, Thomas Reddick, Lucretia, Alfred, Byron, Calvin and Stephen A. Douglas McCormick.

Mary Jane married James Brady after July in 1860. They were married in La Salle, Illinois. [YES!!! I DID FIND THE MARRIAGE DOCUMENT FOR THEM: DEFINITELY MARY J. McCORMICK!!] They resided for many years in Farm Ridge Township, La Salle, Illinois. Both Mary Jane and James Brady died in Ottawa, Illinois.

It was in La Salle that their children were born: Mary, Emma Winnifred, Catherine/Kate, James, Aaron Paul, Anna B., Maggie, William Steven and Walter Emerson.

From the obituary of husband James: "surviving he leaves 3 daughters: Emma (Anderson); Catherine (Townsend); Anna (Powell); 4 sons - James, Aaron Paul, William and Walter."

"To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." ♥ I love you, Grandma Mary! ♥
