Actress. She began her career in vaudeville in the 1920s and performed on Broadway until making her film debut in "Sally" (1929). Her other credits included "Bed of Roses" (1933), "Annie Oakley" (1935), "Slander House" (1938), "The Music Man" (1962) and "The Comic" (1969). For television, she appeared on "Twilight Zone", "My Three Sons", "Gomer Pyle, USMC" and played the original 'Alice Kramden' on series "The Honeymooners". She was also the wife of actor and writer Ralph Bell.
