Death visited our village Friday and took from our midst Mrs. Ursula Bull who was born November 26, 1816. She was married to A.D. Bull January 4, 1838 which union was a happy one. She joined the M. E. Church South in early life, and departed life, August 25, 1816.
She leaves a hearts stricken husband and four children. We can offer no comfort to the bereaved ones greater than that which they desire from the knowledge that she died in peace with God and hope in Jesus Christ, and often expressed to her friends a willingness to die. And now that she has gone so far away and so completely from us, we feel more and more how much we have lost. Her worth to the community can not be estimated and her loss is felt not only by her immediate family but by all of us. Her boundless faith and fortitude sustained her for every trail and disappointment and she met no sorrow for which she could not find a balm. As a mother she was equaled by few and excelled by none. She was ever watchful to every interest of her children and being God-loving and God-fearing she was constant in prayer for their welfare and by precept and example she ever sought to make them as she was a true follower of Christ. Her life was and is a light that cannot be extinguished, a city that cannot be hidden. Composed and amiable in disposition, she drew around her trusting and loving friends. As a neighbor she was thoughtful, considerate, charitable, preferring to say nothing rather than speak evil of anyone with herr beautiful character, loving heart and gentle manner she won and never repelled those with whom she came in contact. She walked in the path of the just. No wonder she was ready when the summoms came. When Jesus called she was ready to lay down the cross and take the crown, ready to cease toiling in the vineyard and perhaps never will until we behold the other side of the scene when all will be made plain. It is indeed sad parting when husband, children, grandchildren and friends had to give up one so lovely, so tru and beautiful in character. But God promised to restore our loved ones, and raise up those now hidden from our view and make us rejoice as never before.
