Alexander Campbell & Flora Morrison

Alexander Campbell and Flora Morrison were born on the Isle of Skye, Scotland in 1777 and 1783 respectfully. Their parents moved to America in 1788 when they were 11 and 5 years old. They lived in the Wilmington, Brunswick area of North Carolina until their marriage between 1795 and 1810. Alex and Flora moved west from Wilmington and settled in Richmond County, NC. In 1812, at age 35, Alexander's name appears in the document British Aliens in the United States During the War of 1812.
In about 1814 they moved to Telfair County, Georgia. This can be documented in the 1820 US Census for Telfair County. In 1827 they moved further south in Georgia to a settlement called Sharp's Store for the store at the crossroads which later became Morven (named for a mountain in Caithness in the Highland Region of Scotland). Morven was located in Lowndes County Georgia later to become Brooks County, Georgia. Here they lived and raised nine children.
Alex's father and mother followed them to Morven in 1829. In that same year, father John Campbell died.
