Cassie C. Cales, 2315 Lombard Avenue, died at an Everett Hospital Sunday morning. Miss Cales was born October 2, 1886, at Sarcopie, Mo., and raised in Bucoda before coming to Everett in 1926. She was a graduate of Western Washington School of Education and took advance work at Columbia University. She taught school for sometime, was secretary of Washington Educational Association and for many years was secretary for the Washington Co-operative Hatcheries. At the time of her illness she was with the Mulligan Farm Implement Company. Miss Cales was captain of the Red Cross Motor Corps Service and was very active during the war years with the Red Cross volunteer service. She was a member of the Garden Club and active in the Womens and Professional Club. She leaves two sisters, Mrs. J. S. Johnson of Dash Point, Tacoma, and Mrs. R. K. Marvin of Centralia, and one brother, W. V. Cales of Centralia. Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Challacombe & Fickel at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Edward C. Raue of the Presbyterian Church of which Miss Cales was a member will conduct the service. Cremation will follow at View Crest Abbey. Interment will be made in the family plot at the Bucoda cemetery.
