Birth State in Question
New Jersey seems to be the accepted state of Elizabeth's birth, however, in the 1880 census, her son Jesse Beauchamp put down Pennsylvania as her state of birth. Her daughter Emily recorded New York as her place of birth in the 1880 census.

Some researchers report that her parents were Robert "Samuel" Adams and Rachel Asher. No records have been found to back this suggestion up. Update: Apparently the "Samuel Adams" who has been listed as her father is memorial ID: 27679324 which gives his death date as 7 Dec 1844. And if you figure out the 74 years, 10 months, and 29 days his birthdate would be 7 Feb 1770. Now, the problem here he would have been a very young man of 14 when she would have been conceived and the presumed mother would have been 9! So although technically possible, I would suggest highly unlikely! Which is why I assume that people are deducting ten years of the father's age at Ancestry to try and make the ages more acceptable. Also, his name is Samuel, not apparently Robert!

It appears that some of the confusion may have been from speculation that she was an Adams and related to the Massachusetts Adams' because she had a son named John Quincy Adams Beauchamp born in 1824. It is more likely that her son was named this because John Quincy Adams was running for president that year.

There is evidence to suggest that she was actually a daughter of Aaron Van Schaick. There is one genealogy book that appears to list her as his daughter.

No primary sources, however, have been presented for either suggestion.

I lean to Van Scoyk because of some circumstantial evidence on top of the listing in the Van Schaick genealogy, however, at this point, this is only speculation.

I linked her memorial to Aaron Van Schaick in the hopes that someone may have more information to contribute to this relationship.

Any information or primary sources concerning Elizabeth would be greatly welcomed.

BURIAL LOCATION?

Is Elizabeth Beauchamp buried in the Darwin Cemetery at all? I have not yet been able to visit the cemetery and am unable to determine whether there is a stone for her. Again, I have no primary source that states she was actually buried in the Darwin Cemetery.
