Obituary for Glenn Hawk Sr.

NEOSHO, Mo. - Glenn T. Hawk Sr., 86, 615 S. High St., Neosho, died at 2:45 a.m. Friday, March 14, 1997, at Freeman Neosho Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Hawk was born Oct. 2, 1910, at Neosho. He was a lifelong Neosho resident. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 315th Medical Battalion, 90th Infantry Division. He was a member of the Church of Hope, Neosho. He had worked at Neosho Floral on North College Street for many years. He was a gardener for the Pet Milk Co., Neosho, and a custodian at Neosho High School. He worked for the L.E. Martin Moving and Storage, Neosho, and as an auctioneer's assistant. He married Nola E. Lett on March 27, 1937, at Neosho. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Glenn Hawk Jr., Neosho; a daughter, Glenda Adams, Diamond; three sisters, Dixie Bracy, Oklahoma City, Okla., Ann Harmon, Joplin, and Betty Wood, Republic; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, with the Rev. Malcom Mosby officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery, near Neosho. American Legion Post No. 163, will conduct a graveside flag-folding ceremony. Pallbearers will be Rodney Dobias, Roger Wilson, Lonnie Stites, Jerry Cornett, Richard Hutchison and Mitch Stillions. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Joplin Globe
