Deceased Name: Martin, Grace Ellen

Grace Martin, beloved wife of Amos Martin, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005 in Marco Island. Grace was born in Cook, MN, the daughter of Albert and Nellie Whiteside. She lived the winters on Marco Island, FL and the summers in St. Paul for 19 years. Grace is survived by Amos, her devoted husband of 57 years; 4 children and their spouses, Lynn Lorton, Joane and Dick Bjorklund, Paul and Moira Martin and Gail and Jeff Glover. She has 8 grandchildren, Kelly (Rupert Fee), Maggie, Kari and Nikki Bjorklund, Casey Glover, Travis and Shane Martin. She is also survived by brother, Dick Whiteside; sister, Dorothy Simernsen and their families. She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers, Jack and Tom Whiteside; her sister, Lydia Barker; and her grandson, Gabe Glover. Grace will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for her beautiful smile and kind spirit. Grace served as a WAVE in the US Navy during WWII. She attended the Univ. of North Dakota. Grace was a loving mother and wife. She loved music and dancing, strolls on the beach and church. Grace loved life, faced it with tremendous courage and a sense of humor. Her compassion and kindness shown throught her whole life. A true inspiration of love, Grace and the love of her life, were known to friends as "Famous Amos and Amazing Grace." A funeral service will be held at HOUSE OF HOPE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 797 Summit Ave in St. Paul. Visitation 1 PM. Service 2 PM. Family burial in Rib Lake, WI.
