Arline Brown
Arline Doss Brown, 65, Route 1, Blairs, died Friday at The Memorial Hospital of Danville after a decline in health of more than one year.
Born July 7, 1922, in Danville, she was a daughter of Mary Amos Doss and the late Elder George Doss. On June 6, 1942 she was married to Oren T. Brown, who survives.
She lived most of her life in the Blairs community, and was employed by Dan River Inc. in the No. 5 Sewing Room for many years, and was last employed by Blairs Junior High School in the cafeteria before her retirement.
She was a member of Afton Road Primitive Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, of Danville and her widower, of the residence, survivors include six sisters, Ocie D. Sammons, Geneva D. Myrick and Lois D. Pryor, all of Danville, Virginia D. Oaks, Blairs, Stella D. Kalman, Danville, Ill., and Barbara Kent Graves, Pontiac, Ill.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday from Barker Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Lonnie Mozingo Jr. Interment will follow in the Highland Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the residence located on U.S. 29 in the Blairs community.
