WILLIAM H. MINERD
William H. Minerd, of 316 North Gallatin avenue, died in his home Wednesday morning, June 13, 1934, at 11:10 o'clock. Had he lived until August 9, next, he would have been 79 years of age.
Mr. Minerd suffered a stroke of paralysis the latter part of last October. Last Saturday, June 9, he took a sudden turn for the worse which ended in his death.
He was a devoted member of Great Bethel Baptist church, having become a member of that congregation some time ago and had been a faithful attendant there until the time of his affliction. He was much beloved and respected by all who knew him.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Missouri Katherine Minerd; and the following children; Seth A.; Percy D. Minerd; Mrs. Olive Elder; Mrs. Janet Kerr; Mrs. Ivan R. Dean, all of Uniontown; and Lela Minerd at home; seven grandchildren, Wilda Kerr, Ina Eder, Lois and Billy Dean and Lela Minerd, all of Uniontown; Mrs. Neil Darrall, of Masontown and Donna Jean Minerd, of Pittsburgh; one great grandchild, Patty Jane Elder; two brothers; James and Charles Minerd, of Republic; and three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Vandyke, Mrs. Emma Trout, of Youngwood; and Mrs. Minnie McKnight, of Fredericktown.
There will be brief services at the residence Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock followed by additional services in the Flatwoods Baptist church in charge of Rev. R. O. Hudson, pastor of Great Bethel Baptist church, assisted by Rev. David E. Minerd, of Dunbar. Burial in the church cemetery.
