Melrose, Ebenezer Franklin Slade (1864-1948), age 82, retired millwright, died here Wednesday night at the home of his son Julian Slade. The remains were sent to the old family home place, Columbia, Miss., for burial.
Mr. Slade was a native of Pearl River County, Miss. He had long been a faithful member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Jane Foreman, Port Arthur, Tex., two other sons, Eugene Q., Raymond, Miss., J. C., Margarette, Canal Zone; two brothers, Quitman Slade, Poplarville, Miss., and Fata Slade, Hattiesburg, Miss., three sisters, Mrs. Sallie Williamson, Mrs. Gaberella Cayten, and Mrs. Doxie Cayten, all of Purvis, Miss., and a half-sister, Mrs. M. Mr. and Mrs. Julian Vence Slade and daughters, Norma Jean and Margaret, have just returned from Goss, Miss., where they attended the funeral of Mr. Ebenezer Franklin Slade (1864-1848), the father of Mr. Julian Vence Slade, who died here in Melrose, with his son last week.
