Emily was born in Maine, the daughter of Daniel and Almira Quinby. She married Benjamin P. Winslow in Leeds, Androscoggin County, Maine, on September 7, 1867. She came to Indiana sometime between 1867 and 1870 with her husband and his parents where they settled in Porter County. Emily had a son with Benjamin, who was named Frank and born in Indiana abt. 1870. Frank is not found in subsequent census records. Benjamin died sometime between 1870 and 1872.
Upon Benjamin's death, Emily married Eli Dille on June 2, 1872 in Porter County. Emily and Eli had two known children: Fred and Claude. She reported in the 1900 census that she had four children and that two were living.
