Susan Leila Glover Rakestraw
Leila was born 9 Oct 1887, Barbour County, AL to Nathan O'Neal Glover and Emma Jane Young. She moved from Barbour County, AL with her family by wagon train in 1891 to Fort Smith, AR.
Her father died in 1896 and her mother in 1897 leaving her an orphan. She was sent to the Deloach family in Pine Bluff, AR . This was not at all unusual for that time.

Leila married Otto Rakestraw and they lived in Bastrop, LA and after the death of her sister Ollie Glover Campbell, Leila helped raised Ollie's son Gilbert Campbell.

Leila had no children. Leila lived on Frank Street in Memphis, TN when Niece Exie Lee Glover married.

Leila met her husband in Memphis, Tn. Otto was from St. Louis, Mo., They went back to St. Louis to be married, then moved back to Memphis.
She was a switchboard operator for the Telephone Company in Memphis, later she worked at a dry goods store for Abe Plough.
1930 Memphis, Shelby Co., Tn. shows her as Susan. 1920 Memphis, Tn., Shelby Co., Tn. shows her as Leila, which proves her name as being Susan Leila Glover.
She died in a nursing home in West Memphis, AR
