Pioneer Resident
of County, Dies
Joe Gambill, aged 60, died last night at 10:15 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lee Thompson, in New Haltrom Addition. He had been ill the last 2 years with Tuberculosis.
The deceased is survived by 5 children; Ed and Ruffian Gambill, Mrs. Lee Thompson, Mrs. Lizzie Burdyshaw, and Mrs. Bertha Vickers all residents of Jonesboro and vicinity. His wife died 8 years ago.
He was an old and respected resident of the county, having spent practically all his life here. Until four years ago he made his home in the Shiloh neighborhood. Since his retirement from active farming he has lived with his children.
He was a member of the Shiloh Methodist Church.
The funeral was held this afternoon at Shiloh, conducted by Rev. Joe A. Stephens.
