CHESAPEAKE - Edna Mae Boyce, 88, went to be with her Lord Feb. 17, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Clara and Charlie Sitterson and the widow of John Cecil "Blackie" Boyce and was born Feb. 28, 1922. She retired from the Chesapeake Police Department in 1983. Mrs. Boyce was a member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church, the Dorcas Sunday School class, the Niners Senior Citizens Club and The Chesapeake Employees Retirement Association. She delivered Meals on Wheels for Chesapeake General Hospital for many years. She is survived by two sons, John Cecil Boyce Jr. and his wife Elizabeth, Donald Boyce and his wife Laura; a daughter, Peggy Bracy and her husband Bobby. She leaves four grandchildren, Jodi and her husband Gene, Michael and his wife Wendy, Nikki, Bob and his wife Teena; five great-grandchildren, Leigh, Ryan, Hunter, Noah and Gavin; a sister, Mildred Dorson; and two nephews. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Graham Funeral Home with the Rev. Amos Eby officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. Those desiring may make donations to the South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church Building Fund.
