Duluth News-Tribune (MN) October 2, 1996

Louise Mary Tardiff, 90, of Rice Lake Road, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 1996, in Chris Jensen Nursing Home.
She was born in Duluth and lived most of her life in California, returning to Duluth in 1978 after she retired. She was a registered nurse working in the Veterans Hospital in Palo Alto, Calif., retiring in 1978. She was a graduate of Central High School, and St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1928. She was a captain in the Nurses' Corps during World War 11, serving in the South Pacific. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Her parents were Joseph Tardiff and Agnes Villers. A sister, Betty French Andone, and a brother, Frederick, also died before her.
She is survived by three brothers, Gilbert Tardiff of Mesa, Ariz., Joseph Tardiff of Aberdeen, Wash., and John Tardiff of Seattle, Wash., two sisters, Ellen Johnson of Cottage Grove, Ore., and Mary Keene of Savannah, Ga.: and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation: 1 p.m. followed by the 2 p.m. services Monday in Dougherty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
