Mrs. Steck was born in Holland, February 21, 1857, and had attained the age of seventy years, one month, and three days.
Her early live was spent in her native land, where she received her education and grew to womanhood.
She was united in marriage to Albert Steck, November 11, 1877, in Holland.
A few years later she came with her family to this country and had lived in Rock Valley continuously for thirty six-years.
Besides other relatives she leaves her husband, Albert Steck and-six children, Mrs. Thos. Gerritson, of Rock Valley, Mrs. C. Brower who lives near Rock Rapids, Dan of Sibley, Ben, Sioux City, Tony, of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Delco and Jerry of Rock valley.
Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley, Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. R. D. Douwstra. Many beautiful flowers and a large attendand at the service were evidence of the high esteem in which Mrs. Steck was held.
