GREENUP - Mrs. Olive M. (Carver) Carlen, age 90 of Greenup, IL passed away at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the Cumberland Rehab and Health Care Center in Greenup, IL. Funeral services celebrating Olive's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup, IL with Pastor Marvin Oakley officiating. Burial will be in the Jack Oak Cemetery in rural Greenup, IL. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice in loving memory of Olive. Olive was born on June 28, 1920 in Cumberland County, IL the daughter of Fred and Lydia (Kemper) Carver. She married Kenneth L. Carlen on October 19, 1946 and he preceded her in death on February 19, 1996. Olive worked at Ettelbrick Shoe Factory in Greenup and was a member of the Plum Grove Church, rural Greenup. Olive is survived by: 2 Sons, James L. Carlen and John D. Carlen ; 1 Daughter, Lydia J. Fritts , IL; 9 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren. Olive was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son E. Joe Carlen; stepson Burl Carlen, Jr.; grandson Kenneth James Carlen; 6 brothers Ossie, Tom, Pete, Ezra, Dick and Wesley Carver; 4 sisters Martha Robey, Effie Bradenburg, Minnie Reeder and Goldie Neece.
