Paul E. Dickson Sr., 90, of Moon Township, died on February 17, 2011, in Heritage Valley Sewickley. He was born in McKees Rocks on June 8, 1920, the son of the late Ralph and Mabel (Bigler) Dickson.
Paul served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Steamfitters Union Local #47 for over 60 years as a welder. Post retirement, he worked at Avis for an additional 15 years. He was a member of the Union United Presbyterian Church, a 32nd Degree Mason with Lafayette Lodge #652, a Syria Shriner, and a member of the American Legion Post #580 in Monaca.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lula Mae "Pete" (Dysert) Dickson; two children, Paul E. Dickson II and Dennis R. Dickson; a sister, Virginia Isenberg; a daughter-in-law, Karen Dickson, and his longtime pet and best friend, Max.
Surviving are his five children, Larry K. Dickson (Sandy), Kennedy Township; Lois J. Dydek (Toogie), Moon Township; Deborah L. Dickson, Kennedy Township; Terri E. Dickson, Columbiana, OH, and David W. Dickson, Sewickley, and two sisters, Dorothy Pettypool and Delores Reichl. His thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren will miss him as well.
Friends will be received on Saturday, February 19, 2011, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., also on Sunday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. in the HUNTSMAN FUNERAL HOME, MOON TOWNSHIP, where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m.
Interment and military honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, McKees Rocks.
