MARRIED AT HICH NOON
Wedding of Mr. Oscar Balch and Miss Nonie Stephenson in Normal.
Mr. Oscar B. Balch and Miss Nonie J. Stephenson were married at high noon today at the home of the bride’s parents, corner of Ash street and Broadway, in Normal. A company of relatives and close friends were present. Promptly at noon the couple entered the parlor, attended by Miss Annie B. Jenkins of Vermont, Ill., as bridesmaid, and Mr. Charles Stephenson, brother of the bride, as best man. They took their places before a bank of flowers, where Rev. W. Smith of the Normal Presbyterian church spoke the words of union, using the full ring service. The bride wore a pretty dress of white organdie. After the serving of a wedding breakfast, the couple departed for a trip to Michigan summer resorts. They will return and be at home after a few weeks at Oak Park, Ill., where the groom is a promising business man. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Stephenson, and is one of Normal’s estimable young women. She has taught in Oak Park the past five years.

Daughter Esther married Era N. Hauser, who died in Elgin in September, 1964.
