MRS. MALCOM PASSES
Ebenezer had a sad shock Friday afternoon in learning that Mrs. Ella (Oscar) Malcom had suddenly passed away at her home here.

She had been in declining health for quite awhile but we all thought she was improving greatly for she could get about the house and go to the table for meals.

She really enjoyed reading, especially The Walton Tribune. The last thing she read was Ebenezer News and was glad to see it in the paper that week for "Minnie" didn't have any news the week before and she wanted to read it all before she had lunch.

After reading she started in another room and suddenly slumped down, dying as she had lived, easily and quietly. Her daughter Mrs. Mary Ella McHugh was by her side assisting her through the door.

"Mama Ella" as she was affectionately called, was a wonderful mother and grandmother, a good neighbor and a Christian of the purest type. She was in her 80's but didn't let years slow her down until her health began to fail. Her husband preceded her in death 12 or 13 years ago.

Elder Walter Allen and Rev. Homer Cowan conducted the last sad rites at Ebenezer on Sunday afternoon and her body was laid to rest under a mound of beautiful flowers attesting to the warm esteem in which she and her family were held by so many people.

The Ebenezer trio rendered two very appropriate selections. E. L. Almand was in charge of the beautiful service.

She was a faithful member of Rock Springs Primitive Baptist Church. Sympathy and love is extended the heartbroken family.
