Andrew Baxter, 77, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at his home in Layton, Utah.
He was born 14 October, 1933 in Manti, Sanpete, Utah to Glen and Cleo Helena Anderson Baxter. He attended school in Manti and graduated from Manti High School. He attended Snow College for two years.
As he was growing up, he worked in his grandfather's grocery store stocking food and delivery groceries.. He later went to work at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1994 after 39 years. Following his retirement from the Base he went to work at Davis School District as custodian, retiring in 2003, and at Macey's grocery store in Clearfield, Utah, retiring from there in 2007.
He married his wife on 24 July, 1964 in Powell, Park, Wyoming. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Andrew enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, working on cars, exploring electronics, and watching Jazz games and NASCAR racing.
Andrew was a member of the LDS Church and was a High Priest. He served as a home teacher and in numerous clerical positions for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his father Glen Baxter; his mother, Cleo Helena Baxter; his brother Glen Junior Baxter; his twin brother, James Baxter.
The family would like to thank all the friends and neighbors who have helped with Andrew. Special thanks to the staff of Access Home Health Care and Hospice for everything they did to help with Andrew's care especially his CNA, his nurse, his social worker, and his chaplain.
He will be buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Ogden, Weber, Utah. Funeral under the direction of Myers Mortuary, Layton, Utah.
Andrew is survived by his widow, and 2 children; a daughter and a son.
