Bluffton Ronald M. McCoy, 81, died at 6:20 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008, at Bluffton Mennonite Nursing Home. He was born on May 16, 1927, in Westminster to Maurice P. and Ethel A. Moyer McCoy, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 14, 1949, he married Dorla I. Morris, who survives in Bluffton. Mr. McCoy retired in 1990 as president of Smith-Boughan Inc. after 17 years. He previously worked for Boughan Brothers for 10 years. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. He was a sergeant and World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1945 to 1947. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275, American Legion Post 96 and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, Lima. He was also a member of Wickenburg Country Club in Arizona. Survivors also include three sisters, Joan Binder, of Lima, N. Jean (John) Ellis, of Fort Myers, Fla., and Janice (Robert) Sexton, of Columbus; two cousins, Barry (Karen) Epstein, of Columbus, and Natalie (Chris) Kern, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother-in-law, Russell (Gracelee) Morris, of Abilene, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Lars Olsen will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima, with military rites by VFW post 1275. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
