She was born Jan. 24, 1908 in Austria, daughter of the late Stanley and Helen Guran Pirkov.
On Oct. 20, 1926, she married Raymond Lewis Hess at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein.
She worked at K & R Restaurant. She was famous for baking pies. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. She was also a member of the Christian Women’s Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors and the Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by five sons, Richard (Mary) of New Holstein, James (Judi) of Brillion, Frank of Hudson, Thomas (Joan) of New Holstein and Jerry (Cadie) of Wausau; three daughters Lilly (John) Eckert of Decatur, Ill., Mary (Jessie) Edwards of Jeffersonville, Ind. and Annie (Wiliam) Anderson of Athelstone, Wis.; 34 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes Edwards of Fond du Lac and Martha Trudeau of Oshkosh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; two sons, Robert and John; two grandchildren, Mark and Robin; one great-grandson, Nate; one brother and three sisters.
The funeral mass will be held at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. The Rev. Frank Weber will officiate.
Friends may call AT THE CHURCH on Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services.
