William Wallace Kemp was the son of Townsend Kemp and Mary Jane Huyck Kemp. He served in the Spanish American War with the 3rd Wisconsin Infantry. He was a photographer in Superior, Wisconsin and moved his studio to Proctor, Minnesota in 1910. He was the proprietor of a billard parlor at the time of his death.
