Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, MN for Robert "Bob" Duane Saxon age 65 of St. Cloud, MN who died on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Al Stangl will officiate. Inurnment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Robert D. Saxon was born on October 14, 1945 in Devils Lake, North Dakota to Lynn and Anna (Grady) Saxon. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Throughout his life Robert worked as a truck driver.
Robert loved archery, fishing, hunting, casino trips and woodworking. He also treasured time spent with his family and loved to sing.
He is survived by his dad, Lynn; children, Dawn (Brent) Wiehr of Hutchinson, Justin (Bridget) Mumm of Fargo, Charlotte (Nick Jesok) Saxon and Jonathan (Kim Davenport) Saxon both of St. Cloud; step children, Christina Salner of St. Cloud and Joseph (Barb) Salner of Waite Park; granddaughters, Paige, Summer, Whitney, Maddy, Jaycee, Shelby, and Tharen; brothers and sisters, Mary Ann (Ken) Fry, Dennis (Jean) Saxon, Mike Saxon, JoAnn (Hank) Holland, Caroline (Brian) Grams and Lynn (Jeff) Lerfald; sister-in-law, Rachel Saxon; his favorite companion, his dog Mitsy; and close friends, Tim and Brianna Knowlen and also many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother; little sister, Dianna; brother, Jim and three infant brothers; and best friend, Mike Reginek.
