Glenda Sue Horton-Baker, 59, of Marion, died at 1:40 a.m. Friday, October 17, 1997, at Memorial Hospital in Springfield.

Mrs. Horton-Baker was born on February 17, 1938, in Marion, to Glen and Mamie (Payne) Thomas. She married Herbert Horton, he preceded her in death, she later married Guy Baker and he survives.

Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Larry Throgmorton of Marion; step-daughter and husband, Melanie and Gary Jones of Marion; stepsons and wives, Marty and Mary Baker and Joe and Leana Baker, all of Marion; a brother, Delmon Thomas of Eldorado; grandchildren, Michia Boyles and Corey Throgmorton, Alex Patchett, Shaun and Danny Jones, Lori, Hollie and Ryan Baker, Eli and Hannah Baker and John Crosley; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Roma Hall.

Mrs. Horton-Baker was of the Baptist faith. She worked at Bays Grocery Store as a cashier for many years.
