Services for Mrs. Mary L. Anderson, 94, of Rt. 1, Diboll, widow of the late T. M. Anderson, who was the first elected county school superintendent of Angelina County, were conducted Wednesday in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. Carr Peel officiating and burial in Largent Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Angelina County on Sept. 20, 1882, and died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was a life-long resident of Angelina County and a member of Diboll Methodist Church.
Survivors: 3 daughters, Lucille Warner of Lufkin, Lois Windham of Alexandria, La., and Maxie Smith of Orange; 3 sons, Jerry L. of Tahlequah, Okla., Morris S. of Buna and J. W. (Jake) of Lufkin; sister, Mrs. Lexie Goodson of Lufkin; 18 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
