George A. Anderson, 83, of Champaign, formerly of Arrowsmith, died at 7 a.m. yesterday (March 25, 1988) at his home. He had been ill.

He was born July 30, 1924, in Champaign, a son of Edward and : Lucy McCarter Anderson.

He married Wanda Miller on July 1, 1950, at Arrowsmith. She died Nov. 8, 1980.

He then married Eileene Wingow on July 3, 1982, In Champaign. She survives.

Other survivors Include two daughters, Karen Dobbins and Linda Wallace, both of Champaign; one son, David, Champaign; three' stepdaughters, Linda Smith, Urbana; Janet Jelly, St. Joseph; and Nancy Ennis, Urbana; one stepson, Richard Hart, Urbana; one brother, Frank, Urbana; one sister, Margaret Tighe, San Diego, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Mr. Anderson was a consulting engineer and owned Anderson and Associates Engineering, Champaign.

He was a member of Champaign First United Methodist Church. He was a member of Champaign Moose Lodge 1288, National and Illinois Society of Professional Engineers, Hydraulic Engineers Club, University of Illinois Alumni Association and Arrowsmith American Legion Post 617.
