Dorothy J. Britcher, 89, of RR1, Mifflintown, died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at her home.

Born Nov. 18, 1912, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Ida Berkheimer.

Her husband, Thomas A. Britcher, whom she married March 27, 1944, survives. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family having been preceded in death three sisters, a brother and her step-father Charles Burkholder.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown where she had served on the communion committee for many years. She also had served as a clerk for the Fermanagh Township election board.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown with Rev. Clair R. Troutman officiating. Interment was in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown. A viewing was held at 12 noon until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home with the family present from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
