Obituary from the Bremen Enquirer, Bremen, Indiana, November 15, 1928:
"Mrs. Milton Hemminger died at her home in Bremen Wednesday morning after an illness of seven weeks with complications. Mrs. Hemminger's maiden name was Emma Elizabeth Mikel. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Mikel and was born December 25, 1869 at Jamestown, Ind. On October 11, 1885, she was united in marriage with Milton Hemminger. Six children were born to them, three of whom survive. They are Ernest and Floyd Hemminger of Bremen and Mrs. Ora Samuels of Mishawaka. Two daughters, Hazel and Agnes, and one son, Kenneth, preceded their mother in death. She is survived also by her husband, two brothers, Amos Mikel of Miskawaka and Harvey Mikel of Saginaw, Michigan and thirteen grandchildren. One grandchild, Orville Hemminger, lived his entire life with his grandparents. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Church of the Brethren, Rev. C. C. Cripe officiating. Burial will be in the Bremen cemetery."
